Iran’s new commanders will continue path with full strength: Army spokesperson

Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi, spokesperson for Iran’s Armed Forces, has reaffirmed that newly-appointed commanders will continue the path of their predecessors with full determination and strength.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi, spokesperson for Iran’s Armed Forces, has reaffirmed that newly-appointed commanders will continue the path of their predecessors with full determination and strength.

According to IRNA, Shekarchi dismissed Israeli claims that Iran had targeted residential areas during "Operation True Promise 3", instead accusing Israel of attacking civilian neighborhoods on Friday, resulting in the deaths of numerous innocent women and children.

He asserted that Israel is incapable of intercepting Iran’s precision-guided missiles, which can penetrate all layers of Israeli air defenses—even with support from the United States.

Shekarchi further stated that Israel and its allies have miscalculated in believing that assassinating Iranian commanders would weaken Iran’s military structure.

The conflict escalated on Friday night when Israel launched a series of military strikes in and around Tehran, as well as other Iranian cities. In a significant escalation, Israeli forces also targeted residential buildings in the Iranian capital.

Additionally, Israel carried out targeted strikes against Iran’s top military leadership, resulting in the assassination of Major General Mohammad Baqeri, Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces, and Major General Hossein Salami, Chief Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).
